Mommy Must Haves

 every new mom will want:

Swing (not necessarily this one...)
Aden+Anais Swaddle blankets...they are expensive, but they're the best!
diaper pail and refills!
ZIP up sleep n play outfits DO NOT GET SNAP-UPS! You will hate them!
Pack N play...if you get a good one, you won't need a crib :)
Video Baby Monitor-peace of mind! (don't have to have this one, though)
zulu nail trimmer- BEST invention for cutting baby nails EVER!
healthy snack bars and crockpot meals that are frozen that you can just throw together
sound machine- helps block out other sounds so baby can sleep. There are also some free apps on your phone!
Pack n play- we have this one and she is still sleeping in it at 4 months old!
Bouncy Chair- this was the #1 thing that calmed Lily down besides nursing. You sit in it while holding baby and bounce up and down!
Sophie- this damn giraffe is $20. Everyone will tell you to buy it. It's worth it...
For baby soap/shampoo, get this organic soap, then get a foaming soap dispenser. pour 1/10 liquid soap in and the rest water. There you go!
Get a baby bath tub. This one will last from NB-toddler!
I have  a girlie, but I try to buy as much as I can gender neutral, that way it can be reused if we have  a boy!
Changing pad covers- these will make clean up SUPER easy when there is an accident on the changing table! Especially if using cloth diapers! Just throw it in the pail with the dirties!
burp cloths-this link is for flat diapers. They make the best/most absorbent burp cloths for cheap!
shea butter- this stuff works great for eczema, dry skin, diaper rash, stretch marks, etc!
Coconut oil- you can get it cheaper than this, but this stuff also works great for moisturizing. Can be used internally and externally.
rechargeable batteries- you'll go through a lot with all the toys!
diaper stick-this stuff is magic! We started using it around 9 months and haven't had a diaper rash problem! For REALLY bad diaper rash, use this stuff

If you're nursing:

First I have to say that if you're nursing, you need to be dedicated and educated! If you're not, you will not succeed in breastfeeding. You need to find friends to talk to about nursing, a good FB group to ask questions, and a phone number to speak to a lactation consultant. Nursing is difficult in the beginning, but the health benefits for mom/child are worth it!

THIS nursing pillow (hands free nursing!)
breast pump- get a good one. Check with your insurance. It should reimburse you a good portion of your pump. Save the receipt!
books on breastfeeding. This link is the BEST!
Nursing Bra- without underwire (or else it will not let your milk ducts drain properly). Shop for this late in 3rd trimester.
Nursing Tank- to wear at night. Use this link to make your own and save $$!

If you're cloth diapering:
Laundry Detergent- has to be a special kind
Liners for diaper pail- buy 2!
Diapers I like: Oso CozyGrowViachunk, for newborns, I like the G-diapers, but disposable is probably easiest :)
Diaper Rash cream- need a special one for cloth diapers- no white paste!
cloth wipes just make sense if you are cloth diapering. These are my fave. Use a spray bottle of water with them and you're good to go!
